Originally an Organic Free Range Chicken Farm, and home to some 20,000 chickens, Venn Farm in Sampford Peverell made the move in 2018 to be a little Wilder.

Our Mission

As a family we were inspired by the theories of Countryside Stewardship and Farming not Factories. We have always believed in slow grown meat, happy animals, well cared for land and humans living harmoniously with nature. We also understand that we live in the 21st Centaury and that these things take time, money, effort and a change in mindset. That’s why we strive to, “do the next right thing”, whether that be welcoming the local deer population onto the farm because of the unique way they graze, encouraging barn owls to breed here or just not mowing the edges of the fields when we make hay.

In creating, the only hard thing is to begin: a grass blade’s no easier to make than an oak.
— James Russell Lowell
